POLICY ON ETHICS AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

We at Peregrine Trading Ltd, give an undertaking that all the products sourced, manufactured and distributed by our company are done so with the highest regard for all ethical considerations. We are proactive in this process by conducting thorough product and supplier audits which are repeated annually.

We will not be associated with any product where there is evidence that the human rights of those involved in any part of the production process are not being respected.

We will not market products containing ingredients obtained through methods which do not respect the wellbeing of humans, animals and their environments.

We will, as much as and wherever possible, limit the use of unnecessary packaging and use biodegradable or recycleable packaging.

We will not market any product where there is any uncertainty regarding the integrity of the ingredients, with respect to their quality or origin.

All Peregrine Trading’s products are GM free. Our suppliers have all pledged to have full traceability regarding the non GM provenance of ingredients they use.

We will not market any products where there is what we consider any unnecessary or avoidable use of chemicals and additives in their production.

ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
Some organic foods available on the market are industrially produced and quality may be compromised by processing factors such as bulk handling, blending, or heat, even though they are certified organic. Organic certification is not a strict criteria for the foods which we sell, though some of our products are certified organic and many of them are made with produce which is, in fact, grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilisers, but not actually certified organic.

VEGETARIAN AND VEGAN
All our products are suitable for vegans and vegetarians except for the ewe’s milk pecorino cheeses, which are made with animal rennet. The alternative was a GM modified coagulant.
